Following a competitive bid to Ten Alps Events and the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, MarketReach was awarded the tender to operate the retail facility at the UK Pavilion of The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan.
The UK Pavilion featured art and science exhibits that highlighted global environmental issues, and was the only pavilion with an outdoor woodland area. More than three million people visited the UK Pavilion, totalling over 13.6% of the 22 million visitors to the Aichi Expo. The UK Pavilion won a Bronze Medal of the esteemed Nature's Wisdom Award from amongst a competition between 69 pavilions.
The Aichi Expo opened to the public on the 25 March 2005 and ran for 185 days, closing on 25 September 2005. The Aichi Expo hosted to 148 countries over 128 hectares.
The retail venue featured a wide array of products that were in keeping with the overall theme of the UK Pavilion.

Working for Frederick Warne & Co., a division of the Penguin Group and Pearson PLC, MarketReach's parent, Copyrights Japan, organised a series of events in Japan celebrating of the 100th Anniversary of the publication of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". Copyrights is the worldwide licensing agent for Peter RabbitTM. Activities included original artwork exhibitions, department store events, a public relations campaign and TV advertising. Eighteen department store events across Japan attracted over 1,000,000 visitors and retail sales of JPY410 million.
The Centennial Year kicked off with Peter Rabbit as the theme of the top-rated prime-time travel quiz programme Sekai Fushigi Hakken (English title "Discovery of the World of Mystery").

Working for the same client, Frederick Warne & Co., a division of the Penguin Group and Pearson PLC, Copyrights Japan manages a series of department store events across Japan for the licensed property,
Flower FairiesTM. Flower Fairies is represented for licensing worldwide by Copyrights. MarketReach conceptualized, designed and produced products to complement the items on sale from Flower Fairies licensees.
The events showcase a floral theme, pairing the Flower Fairies with the current mega-trend, preserved flowers, and feature an artwork and preserved flower exhibit zone, a concert/event arena, a tea lounge and a product sales area. The events have proven extremely popular with women between 20 and 50 years of age - the core demographic for Flower Fairies. The popularity of the department store events have been partly driven by personal appearances of Japanese celebrities such as flower designer, Shogo Kariyazaki, and cookery expert, Makiko Fujino. A dedicated B2C website supports the events.

Germany's largest TV company, West Deutscher Rundfunk ( WDR) group company WDR Media, contracted
with MarketReach to act as its Japanese importer and distributor for Maus character products from German licensees. Maus, one of Germany's most popular characters, is the symbol character for the
German-Japan Friendship Year celebrations in 2005/2006. MarketReach's affiliate, Copyrights Asia is the official licensing agent for Maus in Japan.
MarketReach imports and distributes Maus products to a variety of retail outlets including the exclusive Roppongi Hills shopping complex and the Country Farm Tokyo German Village. Maus marketing activities are supported by a B2C website www.maus.jp which features an e-commerce facility with many of the products provided by MarketReach.

For fifteen years, Copyrights managed the retail shop concessions for the performances of the Japanese versions of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals, Cats and Phantom of the Opera at theatres throughout Japan. Working together with Sir Andrew's The Really Useful Group, Shiki (the Japanese theatrical licensee), and local theatre owners, Copyrights was instrumental in providing product logistics and the retailing infrastructure. The experience and skill sets acquired as a result of this relationship are now available through MarketReach to clients looking for merchandising services.

Nagashima Resort, the largest theme park in central Japan, entered into a fifteen-year agreement with Copyrights to use Peter Rabbit TM as its image character. In addition to having developed specific
image branding for Nagashima Resort, Copyrights Japan assisted Nagashima Resort in choosing licensed
products from more than eighty Japanese Peter Rabbit licensees. MarketReach offers the same basic
service in acting as a merchandising consultant to companies looking for a product mix that will satisfy the
strict demands of the Japanese consumer as well as turn a profit for the client.
