8 to 10 January 2005 - MarketReach organised a promotional visit to Japan by Dave Pacheco, Creative Director of Walt Disney Classics Collection, the exclusive range of fine animation art sculptures produced by MarketReach client, Enesco. Dave gave talks to enthusiastic collectors and fans at events hosted at the
Tokyo Disney Resort and the Nagoya Tokyu Hotel, where WDCC retailer, Edom, has a store.

Shop opens at the UK Pavilion, Aichi Expo 2005
25 March 2005 - MarketReach began operation of the retail facility in the UK Pavilion of the Aichi Expo 2005. The organisers of the Aichi Expo 2005 are expecting a total of 15 million visitors during the 185 days period of the Expo. The UK Pavilion is aiming to be one of the most-visited country pavilions, and the shop offers a wide range of products to enhance the visitor experience. Products sold include clothing. tableware, foods, stationery and tableware. In addition to exclusively-designed items for the shop, visitors are able to purchase products imported from the UK including HRH The Prince of Wales' organic foods brand, Duchy Originals.

UK National Day at the Aichi Expo 2005
22 April 2005 - the UK National Day at the Aichi Expo 2005 took place in the presence of HRH the Duke of York and British and Japanese VIPs. HRH the Duke of York and members of the visiting delegation accompanied by the British Ambassador to Japan, Graham Fry, toured the UK Pavilion and MarketReach's retail facility within the Pavilion.

Executive Training Programme Presentation
6 June 2005 - David Buckley, President of Copyrights Japan and Chairman of the European Business Council in Japan's Retail, Wholesale to Distribution Committee, made a presentation to current participants of the Executive Training Programme (ETP). The ETP is an initiative from the European Commission designed to help European organisations or individuals to build profitable links with Japanese industry. ETP participants are European business managers who spend one year in Japan learning the language and culture, and interning at Japanese companies.

One millionth visitor to the Aichi Expo UK Pavilion!
11 June 2005 - The UK Pavilion at the Aichi Expo 2005 has welcomed its one millionth visitor. The visitor from Mie Prefecture received one Virgin Atlantic Airways Tokyo - London round trip ticket in celebration of this milestone event. MarketReach manages the retail facility within the UK Pavilion.

20 July 2005 - Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako visited the
UK Pavilion at the Aichi Expo 2005. Their Imperial Highnesses were greeted by cheering crowds at the Expo. His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito serves as the Hononary President of the 2005 World Exposition. MarketReach operates the retail shop in the UK Pavilion.

Aichi Expo UK Pavilion welcomes its two millionth visitor!
9 August 2005 - the UK Pavilion welcomed its 2 millionth visitor to the pavilion at 3.25 p.m. Pictured below is Steve King, Director of the pavilion celebrating the moment with the lucky visitor from Nagoya. MarketReach operates the retail concession in the pavilion.
HIH Princess Takamado visits the Aichi Expo UK Pavilion
27 August -The UK Pavilion was honoured with a visit by HIH Princess Takamado. The Princess enjoyed the pavilion's unique English woodland garden and its artworks, and was complimentary about the interactive exhibits inspired by nature.

Aichi Expo UK Pavilion topped 3 million visitors!
25 September - By the end of the last day of the Aichi Expo, more than 3 million people had visited the UK Pavilion. Representing over 13.6% of the 22 million visitors to the Expo, the UK Pavilion proved to be an immensly popular destination. MarketReach operated the UK Pavilion shop during the six month Expo period, and the top-selling items amongst Pavilion visitors were original UK Pavilion-logoed teas, biscuits and jams and well as HRH The Prince of Wales' range of Duchy Originals organic food products.

The latest in a series of business information guides covering key British export markets has just been published by InterTrade Media. The Market Essentials Folder - Japan, in which MarketReach is a major advertiser, highlights an ongoing campaign by the British Government to promote British business in Japan. With an initial 10,000 copy print run, the publication is distributed to senior business people who are serious about trading, investing and establishing partnerships and joint ventures in Japan. In addition to panel discussions, the filled-to-capacity audiences were enraptured by demonstrations of Dave's drawing skills.
